How Can chronic Cough Along With Gastritis Be Treated?

I have a chronic cough. I had cold virus months ago and the cough has never gone away. I cannot talk much without having a coughing episode. I have taken cough medicine daily and it partially helps but not completely. Many times the cough causes me to expel gas which is embarrassing.

Hello,

A cough can be related to gastritis and acid reflux.

I would recommend using an antacid such as Omeprazole.

I also recommend avoiding food that can increase the level of acid in the stomach such as caffeine, alcohol or spicy food.

I also recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
